I want YOU to get to know me! Some of my readers are new to my corner, others have known me for some time but there maybe a thing or two you don’t know about me yet! It was actually kind of hard to write this list, turns out I don’t really have that many interesting facts about myself! But here goes!

15 Facts about me!

  1. I was vegetarian for 7 years. One day in year 9 I decided to go vegetarian and stopped eating meat from then on. Much to my mothers dismay of having to make a separate meal for me each meal (because she’s the best, whose mum wants to make separate meals for everyone?!)
  2. I lived in London for 12 months when I was 21, almost to the day. After that I did not want to live anywhere else in the world. Yet here I am, living in Canada for the past 6 years 😉
  3. I met my love/baby daddy/future husband (?) on Contiki and we barely said two words to each other the entire time!
  4. I am the youngest of 3. I have an older brother and older sister.
  5. When I was young, like a teenager, I would always tell my mum I never wanted to have children (see point 4, spoilt youngest) she would always tell me I would change my mind. As always, mother knows best! 😉
  6. I have a GIANT phobia of spiders. I freeze up and cannot walk past them or underneath them! Because of this, I have been stuck in a room crying many many times till someone gets home to save me!
  7. I have really bad motion sickness. It’s not as bad as it use to be but when I was younger I would throw up every time I was in the car. Made those 12 hour trips from Sydney to Queensland so fun for my brother and sister! Now I am living it again through Siena!
  8. I have no tattoos but have always wanted one, I’m not sure if I ever will because I can never decide on what I want and it actually scares me to be permanently marked!
  9. I studied travel and tourism and Makeup artistry when I finished school
  10. I laugh at my own jokes, almost always.
  11. I have Trypophobia. Fear of holes and clusters…Don’t look it up, don’t ask me about it. YUCK!
  12. I have ISS – Idiopathic Subglottic Stenosis. Read more here. A condition that effects my breathing which only came on after I had Noah.
  13. I love food. I am always hungry or always thinking of food and planning my next meal.
  14. I would love to try going plant-based, for no other reason than to eat more fruits and veggies!
  15. I cannot go without at least 1 coffee a day. Some may call it an addiction. I call it true love!

Now, tell me about you!

Thanks for reading!

How are you liking Canada? I’m from Vancouver and have never been to Calgary. I’ve always said I would go, but now I live in Italy so chances are slim that I’ll be visiting soon. 🙁
I looked up your …Stenosis condition and I had no idea that could happen. Glad it hasn’t come back and that you are enjoying mommyhood without having to worry about breathing.

I like it, it’s pretty but it’s not the same as home plus it gets soooo cold here in Alberta!I have been to Vancouver a couple of times, but have not spent enough time there… I have been to Italy a couple of times too and absolutely loved it!
      Thank you for reading! x

I have terrible motion sickness too–it makes travel really difficult. It’s certainly not as bad now as it was when I was a kid, but I still have to be prepared with Dramamine, candied ginger, and various other strategies to counteract it

Yes I think it’s easier as an adult because we can sit in the front seat! Although it does not help when I have to keep turning around and checking on my daughter in fear of her throwing up!

I can relate to your fear of spiders. I used to totally freak out and my mother had to come and trap it in a glass jar and take it outside (she is a vegetarian/veterinarian and can’t stand the thought of killing spiders). 2 summers ago I went to Bali where they have a lot of spiders so I decided I wanted to get over that particular fear. I got up early every morning and started photographing them making webs. They were so beautiful (if still a bit terrifying)! I now am mostly over the fear and appreciate the beauty they offer the world.

Oh you are more brave than me! I definitely could not take photos of them spinning webs. Although it would be nice to get over the fear, however living in Canada keeps me far far away form creepy crawlies like that, so I don’t have to worry about it too much right now!

I too have ISS, it affects everything I do. I had a procedure at Mayo Clinic, it lasted about 5 years. It came back and I sought local treatment with a ballon dialation in Feb 2016. I will see my ENT on Monday because it has returned. I hate this monster that interferes with my teaching, exercise and being a mother.

Hi Christy, can you get that same procedure that you had done at the mayo again? I am so sorry you have this too. It makes me so angry that such a ridiculous thing exists!I hope this dilation works longer for you!(for both of us) xx
