Ah long weekends. How I love thee so. Mostly because daddy is home an extra day, which makes parenting a little more easier. And, let me tell you, It was a real doozy of a week. So, this long weekend was welcomed with very open arms and a glass of rosé.
Saturday was a “me” day aka “mummy” day! Man, did I need it. I had already planned that I was going to go shopping, by myself! I had to exchange a pair of shoes for Noah for school. That was my original plan. But I didn’t really need an excuse. I stayed and looked (and shopped, nothing to read here, Joe) I didn’t have to rush, it didn’t matter if there were lines. It was great!
Sunday we went to the zoo! It’s always really fun taking the kids to the zoo. We have been getting a yearly membership since Noah was less than a year old. It’s totally worth it. I usually go during the week with my mummy friends. Joe doesn’t often get to go with us so it’s kind of a treat for all of us. The kid’s love the animals and also the soft serve ice-cream and the gift shop! Much like their mama really!
Now, I need to take time out to talk about this gorgeous little dress Siena is wearing. Blueberri is a company based in Toronto, Canada. Iva is the wonderful woman who founded the company. This particular outfit is a dress and bloomers, you can find it here. I put stockings underneath because the day started out quite chilly. I love the detailing, from the peter pan collar to the sleeves. Which I think are my favourite part. It’s called petal cup, So it isn’t restricting and they have a “flutter” sort of appearance. It’s the softest material. Seriously divine. I will for sure be keeping this as an heirloom piece.
Blueberri designs and makes organic children’s clothes, their mission is to provide high quality clothes that are good for littles and the environment. Each garment is made locally in Canada for quality control, so you know there is a lot of care taken into the apparel. All designs are simple and classic, I have my eye on this one!
One of the things I love most is the cotton used is 100% certified organic cotton, chemical free and eco-friendly. If I didn’t make it clear enough, buttery soft! All you really want is the best for their delicate skin. Even if their whole wardrobe wasn’t made from such fibres. It’s nice to have a couple of quality garments, especially to pass down or to have as keepsakes. I also think these beautiful pieces would make a really special baby shower or birthday gift for any special little person in your life.
On friday we had a home day. We went on a family walk and took the kids to the park. Which is nothing different from our day-to-day life, but I have quickly come to realise that the kids don’t care if you are dropping $100 to go to the zoo or a kid’s museum or spending $0 to go to the park. Either way they have a lot of fun and really, that’s all we want. Not that a change in the usual routine is unnecessary, sometimes as parents we are the ones that need the variety. But, it gives you some piece of mind that they want nothing more than to have fun. No matter where they are!
