Kayla Itsines BBG - Week 8

During my pregnancy I gained about 12 Kgs, I just did the converter and that’s around 26 pounds! Crikey! I will say most of it was baby weight and I lost 3/4 of it within the first month. I was very lucky. Right now I have a couple of kgs to go to get back to my pre pregnancy weight but it’s not really my concern. My main focus going into this new fitness program was to tone tone tone. I wanted my butt to lift, I wanted those nice lean, visibly toned arms, that weren’t too masculine but were obvious that you work out without having to flex. I haven’t quite reached that form yet and I think I will have to do another round of the BBG workout to get near that but I think the second round would be a bit easier after doing the first! This past week I really focused on eating healthy. We made an agreement to eat really really healthy. I would probably say we got to healthy, not really really healthy. With Father’s day burgers and milkshakes and also trying out a new Ben and Jerry’s ice cream (obviously) means we had […]

I am just over half way now. Woo hoo! I have never stuck with a workout this long, I am actually quite proud of myself! My progress so far has been impressive. My biceps have grown. I can see definition in my stomach which I never thought would be possible. My legs have become stronger and I can see my muscle definition when I am working out. I feel like I have more strength to lift and carry my son who is a heavy 30 pound 2-year-old. He loves to be thrown around and lifted up high! I have taken a few progress photos along the way and the results are definitely visible! Kayla’s workout also has a meal plan. However, I don’t really follow it for all meals, loosly when it comes to breakfast, lunch and snacks. If you have read my blog then you know I have a bit of a sweet tooth so am guilty of not always eating the healthiest! But we really only eat junk food on a weekend, unless its ice cream occasionally during the week. I mostly try to stay healthy with my meals and snacks, I actually really enjoy eating healthy. My guilty pleasure […]

Around the time Siena turned 4 months I realised I needed to start doing something for myself. I wasn’t happy with how I looked or how I felt. I know I was only 4 months postpartum, but I had been spending the last 4 months looking after my new baby. All my time was devoted to feeding, holding and loving on her and, of course my busy two year old! Absolutely nothing was wrong with that, but it was time to get moving! During this time Joe had really dedicated himself to the gym and he was seeing great results. I really wanted that too! One morning I was watching the view (yeah, I know) and Kayla Itsines was on the show and talking about her bikini body workout. What really interested me was that you only have to do her work out 3 times a week each one only being 28 minutes long. Perfect! I hate working out, working out longer than half an hour and going to the gym at night. But, with this I can work out at home. So I downloaded the app. I started with the 4 weeks of beginner workouts basically because there is a warning […]
