SWIMMING AND SOCCER

The kids both started swimming lessons on Saturday. It’s Siena’s first ever swimming lessons and Noah’s first time swimming with an instructor, without Joe or myself. Both of them did great! Siena found it all a bit so so. Didn’t laugh, didn’t cry. So I chalk that up to a good time.

Noah on the other hand, I was watching him whilst I was in the class with Siena (we were lucky enough to get the lessons at the same time) was having the absolute time of his life! He was diving under the water splashing around, kicking and mostly doing what he was being told. So I was proud of him! If you know Noah, then you would know why I was nervous about him going into the water by himself without one of us. He’s a very stubborn boy (as most 3 year olds can go) but he is also one that can’t really be negotiated with just yet. So I was very relieved when I saw him constantly smiling and having a great time. The tantrum he threw at the end was an obvious sign that he was enjoying himself too 😉

If you read my last post then you know I was going to get my hair coloured. Now, as always, I was a little nervous. It’s not exactly what I wanted, I will sadly admit that. But I am actually enjoying it. So I will see what I can do with it over the next month or so and decide if it’s staying or going.

Sunday was soccer! Yes, for a brief 10 weeks I was a ‘Soccer Mom’ (has to be said in a north american accent) and Noah got his very first sport medal!! I am such a sentimental mum. I need to be there for every “first” even if they aren’t really a big deal. Obviously getting your first sport medal is a big deal though! It was really cute seeing all these little ones so excited of their medals. Then we went out to brunch after which is always nice time spent with friends and kiddos! Even if said kiddos (mine) would not sit still and threw some minor tantrums for a “coink” to put in the toy machine.

Also, daylight savings started! Which means longer days and spring and summer are (hopefully) just around the corner!! I love daylight savings! I love the longer hours of sunshine. The sun doesn’t set till 10 or sometimes later here in the summer, it’s kind of strange but so good! The kids sleep didn’t really change either so I can’t complain there either.

All in all it was a good, busy weekend. FREEZING, but good.
