Woman up box

I have tried many subscription boxes over the years. Most of them being beauty focused. So I was excited to work with Woman up box and review their box!

Woman up box is a monthly box full of goodies for yourself! Packed full of woman run company products. From beauty, to house and home and yummy treats and jewels. Each company and their product is chosen for that months theme. The best part, each item is full-sized!

Also in each box you receive a monthly lift up card. It’s a card with ideas on how you can lift up the amazing woman in your life. I think this is a nice little added touch to the box. The whole idea behind Woman Up box is to empower woman, support woman, to treat yo’ self and lift other woman up in your day-to-day life. So this extra card is a nice little reminder of that. They also donate 10% of their proceeds to a woman’s charity, which they change every month.

This months theme is ‘get the party started’. A box full of goodies to enjoy the last days of summer. Specifically, entertaining outside. Let’s be honest, those days are dwindling, at least here in Alberta! It’s only a matter of time before that first snow fall. But it’s actually been really hot, so I am not complaining yet. With the items in the box (minus the cocktail recipes, because, hello, single parenting midweek) the kids and I had a super cute, super fun picnic! With fruit water for the kids, cold brew for mama, nuts to snack on and cake pops and fairy bread, it was perfect.

In the August ‘get the party started’ Box I received…

1. I’m so happy it’s happy hour – By Anne Taintor – $14.95

It’s a cocktail book! And to my surprise, I don’t have a cocktail book. I love the meme pictures through out. It’s definitely entertaining!

2. Germack Roasted and Salted Fancy Mixed Nuts – $7

Not too much to report here, they were good nuts! We pretty much ate them in one night!

3. Flamingo drink coaster – $14

Flamingoes were definitely a trend this summer, so I was pretty excited to see these colourful coasters in the box. The kids loved them too!

4. Druzy Bangle Bracelet – $15

I think this one is my favourites out of the box! It’s so pretty and very much something that I would buy myself. I was surprised it wasn’t worth more!

5. Peppermint Foot Rub – $13

I really like the story behind the company that makes this. The company first started out as an organic vegetable farm and eventually turned into a farm that makes natural healing body products. Very cool, and totally my thing! Now I just need to get Joe to massage my feet with it 😉

6. Bonus – Festive Green Stripped Straws – $4.50

I am not sure if there is always a bonus item but I do like a bonus! and who doesn’t love colourful paper straws?! The kids got a kick out of these!

A woman up box is $49.95 so you can see with the prices I included that you are getting great value. If you are the type of person who likes to treat yourself and likes surprises too then I think this box is a great idea. Sure it’s sometimes a lucky dip. But sometimes that’s the fun! When it has a good story behind it, it’s easy to get on board.

Do you like subscription boxes? Would you try this one?

Stay tuned for a giveaway happening next week! One lucky reader (through instagram) will get a chance to win a Woman up box for themselves. I hear the September box is meant to be their best one yet!
